Is this what they call a "Day 1" patch?!


Corrected a couple of blatantly obvious issues:

  • Pawn Promotion
    • Pawns can now (and must) be promoted once reaching the opponent's back rank.
      • thus removing the "stuck" pawn issue.
    • Promotions follow standard chess rules allowing for promotion to either a rook, knight, bishop, or queen.
    • Mousing over a promotion selection slightly highlights that piece to aid choice visibility.
    • Promoting raises the former pawn's total hit point value to that of the selected promotion piece.
    • Any and all hits on a pawn carry over to the selected promotion piece.
    • Fixed minor other bugs related to pawn promotions.
  • Strikes from the Dead
    • Dead pieces no longer strike at each other once the dead lanes begin to cross over.
  • Blood Pools
    • I noticed the blood pools were growing simply from a wounded piece being present on the square.
    • The original intention was to only have the blood pools grow at the time a piece was struck on that particular space.
    • I've decided to leave the unintended effect as is for now to reduce overall game length by reducing more quickly reducing stealth spots.
  • Misc
    • Added an icon for the windows exe file.
      • thus replacing the default gamemaker icon.
